After finally remembering my password for this blog that I set up in my first year of University I managed to edit out the rubbish and start fresh.
For one of my modules at University I was asked to evaluate a website using some common tools.
The website I chose was
The Ghana Learning Project, I have a friend who volunteers for this organisation so I picked their website to evaluate.
The First tool i used was
Website Grader, I found this website very useful and it provided me with detailed information about the website. How long the domain has been active for, meta-tags and how many images were on the site.
Overall I found this tool quite useful.
The second tool I used was
Browser Shots, I've used this tool before and found it very useful, I compared Firefox, Chrome, Safari and SeaMonkey and the only browser in which the website was not viewable was Firefox.
The last tool i used was
Website Optimization, the information that was most useful was the download times from each speed of connection. I found this very useful as I have logged on the site from Ghana and it has taken me some time. Now I can see that having less images on the site would improve download time.
